Default Tranny hits rev limiter after hypertech

Hi everyone.. I am new here. I have a 1997 c5 corvette with 75k miles. Heres the problem... When i floor the accelrator from a stand still (anywhere from 0mph) it picks up very fast but then it hits the end of first gear, hits the rev limiter and keeps hitting the rev limiter. The rpm tach goes up and when it hits the rev limiter it goes back down 1thousand rpm and hits the rev limiter again. The only way i can get this to go away is if when i floor it and it gets near the red line i ease off the accelartor a bit. Other than that its fine. When im moving and floor it its fine. Now i have installe d aram air and a hypetech chip ( its the newest one out i think its the hypertech III). I dont remember if this rpm limiter thing happened before i put the chip in. If i HAD to take a guess i would say that no it didnt. ANY ideas on wahst up? Any info on what setting i should have the hypertech on?

p.s- the hypertech isnt the chip its the plug into the car computer and then unplug. Also I did not program the hyptech myself but my mechanic is a close family friend and hes very good.

When you have this problem, do you have it in 1st gear & shifting manualy?

there's two things that determine a WOT shift.

1. RPM

2. MPH

you must meet both these conditions for the A4 to automatically shift @ WOT.

My guess is that you have the 1-2 WOT MPH figure set too high.

the 1-2 is set too high. simply start over, then increase it and adjust the rest. it should only take you less than 10 minutes

I would just start over fresh. That way the program is stock and you can go up 1 "push" at a time. Raise your rev limiter to 6200 too.

For god sakes make sure that your battery is fully charged !!!

If you dont and your can goes into "reduced power mode" while the Hypertech is programming you will be in big trouble as you will not be able to start your vehicle what so ever.

Just a reminder

I set the tranny firmness to %75.... should I go any higher? also what should i be setting the shift points at? right now they are all at 0... any ideas? thanks ..... anyone know what rfg or rmg gas is? and if its needed in new york to pass emissions?

raise the limiter to 6200. Increase shift firmness to 100% ( see if it's too hard hitting or not ). 100% felt good to me when i used mine.
I think my 1-2 was set +2, 3-4 +3
Shift points obviously need to be less than your rev limiter setting
rfg and rmg isn't for emmisions. One is for premium fuel. If you select
that one, it will advance your timing.

As said above Hypertech's tuning allows you to run either regular or premium fuel.
