I have an ECS 5 point, very happy with the look, fit and function of it. My car is tubbed also and I can still fit my top in the back. In my opinnion it seems to defete the purpose of putting a bar in if it isn't welded to the frame. When my seat is in the proper position the bar doesn't interfere in any way. I have padding on all my bars for safety (not shown in the picture).

ECS makes some hi quality products and I would like to have there roll bar. But it's over my current budget. I mostly want this for a harness bar and camera mount for HPDE. I figured for a little bit more, I could have a Wolf Craft roll bar for a little extra protection. I know it's not as good, but it's better than just a harness bar. And the extra protection, even though not as good as a cage, or a bar welded to the frame, is better than nothing at all.

Makes sense. My only concern would be if your 5-point harness is attached to the roll bar and it is not welded. Would you be safer or not. I'm not sure what the answer is to that question.

Good luck either way.

Check out this installation of a DRM roll bar 4pt. Any reason why that wouldn't be SAFER then a bolt, more rigid and have a 5th point made to it with a removable door bar sounds spectacular to me.

If that bar comes lose, all your belts become useless. I decided for myself that no kit from anyone would work. I had mine custom made. For a 4 pt. it would probably cost around 2k welded in. Don't fool yourself in thinking that these kits are better then nothing.
Good luck in your finding.

Custom weld in, 6 point chromoly (sp) with swing outs. Cut through the floor and welded to the frame rails. Except the rockers which are frame rail.

Thanks for the pics guys. On the pics that has a bottom bar that the main loop is welded to. One side is welded to the frame. Is the otherside welded to the tunnel?
I think if I can get a kit, then I can modify to make it more stronger. I don't have a tubing bender, but I have access to a tig welder, saw, and milling machine.
What is the pros and cons of the rear bars being straight, vs bent? Is it just a preference, or is one better?

Are the swing out side bars also removable? I don't really want to have them on the car except for when I am at the track. Seems like it would be a hassle getting in and out of the car just for daily driving.

No one has a opinion on the higher mount of the Doug Rippie 4pt?
