after putting headers, cats ,and x pipe on my 2000 6 speed. when I get on it hard, there is an odor. the smell is similar to sulsur. The car pulls great all the way to red line. would a tune solve this problem? thanks in advance for any help.
you have cats on the x pipe? if so, could be a cat smell, I had ups plastic stuck on my cat back from when it got shipped, it always smell like melting plastic when i get on
If your car was running rich prior to your mods. it could be that the cats are now burning off all the rich build up and as soon as all the crap is burnt out you will have a clean burning smell. (it happened to me)

Anybody riding with you when you nail it hard? If so, inquire, casually and with sensitivity, if they just **** themselves. If not, maybe it's the cats.
You didn't mention it...but did you replace your belts when you did mods. OEM belts have a tendency to smell like a "skunky beer" for at least a couple thousand miles. You won't notice it when you're driving, but when you stop with the engine running...the C5 hood design will suck-up the smell into the air intakes near the windshield and then into the interior...
The rotten egg smell is from the the high sulfur content in some gas formulas. There is a chemical reaction in the CATs causing the sulfur to oxidize. (1) Did you install new CATs? If so the smell will diminish over time. (2) Do you add an additive to the gas tank? Don't. It may add sulfur. (3) Have you switched gas brands? Some formulas have a higher sulfur content.(4) Avoid short trips where the CATs don't come up to full temp. It has nothing to do with your engine or emission equipment or drivability. The odor is usually noticed after cold starts, fast idles, extended idling, and full throttle acceleration.
