I just noticed after I finished my h/c install and reconnecting the battery that the auto down feature for both windows is inop. Is this a simple reprogram feature?
Actually I think there is. Does it have to do w/ the idle/pcm relearn anybody? I've heard of something where you have to train the windows where to stop opening and closing. TTT for ya though.
I would not think disconnecting the battery would have anything to do with the window operation. Are you sure you remember how to trip the auto down feature?
I am sure there is no reprogramming concerning where the window stops. I have replaced enough window regulators to know that the window travel is controlled by when the motor can no longer drive it. There are no limit switches. There are jack screws to set the up position, and the length of the drive cable controls the bottom position. The motor just stalls.
Well they worked before I disconnected the battery, and now they don't. I doubt they both failed at the same time post h/c install. Seems like it would be a simple program feature, like they lost memory? I know I had to do this in my Honda Pilot after they lost memory so I would assume the same for this car, maybe?

It makes sense that something happened, but I have left my battery disconnected for an extended period and my windows did not quit working.
Do the windows roll down normally, except for the express down feature?
By the way, I have seen both windows quit working completely at the same time in other people's cars. I have already had to replace one window regulator on my 2004 Z06, and have had problems with the other one. I mistakenly thought my express down feature had quit working until I thought about it for a minute and realized that you just depress and release the switch. I was unconsciously holding the button down too long and wondered why the window did not continue down when I released it.
Yeah, they work great normally. But when I press the detent down and release they used to roll right down, now...nada. Not sure what happened cause both of them are affected. That is just too weird of a coincedence. Damn, I was hoping it was as simple as my Honda. They have a weird rub your belly, pat your head procedure to reprogram them.
It seems like the express down feature would be controlled by the door control module, but it is strange that both doors would be affected at the same time.
