no auto parts store doesnt' have them... it's a real odd ball size. i am thinking like M16x1.5
I know I have a whole box of them in my garage and if ya want I can mail ya one...
I bought them for the same reason, I had one spin off, searched high and low for a replacement and ended up by a box of 30 from MSC, so now I have a box of 29 and will prolly never use them all

Nice offer.
You're right, it is a M16x1.5 jam nut (half the thickness of a normal hex nut). It is an uncommon metric fine pitch size.
McMaster-Carr also has them, http://www.mcmaster.com
Part # is 90326A135 for zinc plated steel ($7.75/pkg of 10), or 91938A135 in stainless ($8.78/pkg of 5).
If you have a Fastenal branch near you, they carry the standard hex nut in this thread size, but not a jam nut...the full nut will work, just that it will be thicker.
FWIW USE A BIT OF RED LOCTITE/IMPACT GUN.
i couldnt seem to get a spanner like a dogleg that was deep enough
and that would still give you access to the tork fitting in the shaft.

I put on a pair of HEAVY work gloves and grabbed the pulley as har as I could while giving it a spin with my impact gun. Went on tight. Hopefully tight enough...
Oh boy am i with you on that one.
btw dont race without checking the nut, seems as soon
as you go to the track, the 1st thing to let go is the alt nut then the belt.
i had enough thread still available to stick on another nut, call me paranoid. NITRO UK
