Replaced my plugs and wires today with new TR6's gapped to .035 for the nitrous.
Now it hesitates and makes much less power.
Anyone else had this problem?
I checked all the connections and they are fine, plus put a timing light on it and the coils are fireing fine, thinking it could be a bad plug.
Is there an easy way to figure out which one is not fireing right, I do have an extra plug???
Backfire does indicate a miss---especially when accelerating--sounds like a broken plug - cracked insulator--or closed up gap--just curious -what shot NOS you plan to use ?? I'm using a 100 HP wet system and they recc. the TR55's at .040---It runs fine--the TR6's are awful cold with a shot of 100 or less and .035 is really narrow--But i don't know the rest of your comb. or how big a shot you have---
Most of the people I talked to reccomended the TR6's gapped at .035 as did LS1.com, does not mean its right though.
Right now the nitrous is jetted for a 75 wet shot and will be moving to a 125 eventually.
The engine runs great with no load, can not even tell is missing but with a load, going up a hill or acceleration it is hesitating and loosing power big time.
Going to pull the plugs this week and see if one is fouling up.
Go back to your original wires and see if that solves your problem, I switched to MSD wires once and they were awful, in the dark it looked like a light show under my hood because the wires were arcing everywhere.
Checked the wires at night for any arcing and found none.
It did throw the P0300 engine misfire code today.
One weird thing is that when it starts up cold it runs great for about a minute but then starts acting funny again.
Is it possible that to cold a plug would cause this?
