Default Blackwing owners - installation question

My 2000 Coupe had one already installed and this fall I took mine apart for the end-of-year filter cleaning and had a heck of a time reinstalling it. The rubber coupler between the filter and the MAF looks to be homemade and about 1/2" too short. It is held on by a pipe clamp on both sides. It really looks like someone bought one of those smooth air couplers and cut it to fit.

1) Can someone post a pic of the correct coupler?
2) Can these be purchased?

You can use the oem "accordion" coupler and eliminate the issue, assuming you're using the oem air bridge. It doesn't look as good as an after market smooth coupler, but unless you've done significant other performance changes, you'll never notice any difference.
When I had a BLACKWING on my car, I also used a smooth after market coupler. It was to rigid and to long, making R&R installation difficult and frustrating. It also lead to a "pucker" at the very bottom of the coupler beneath the throttle body that went undetected with the installation. It allowed an air leak and intermittent codes until I found it with a small mirror. I trimmed it 1/4" which improved installation, but it looked ragged.
I remedied the problem with an SLP bellows. It has a bump in the center which allows for more flex. It's sold by SLP, who is the vendor for the BLACKWING. It did not require any trimming. You can sometimes find them on EBAY.
When I removed the BLACKWING, I kept the SLP bellows and the oem air bridge with a modified air filter assembly.

I am talking about the coupler between the MAF and the blackwing, not the air bridge and the throttle body. Thanks though.

:o My mistake, I misread your question. If you go to the SLP website you'll find they sell the silicone connector there. If you know the exact ID required, there are number sources on the internet that sell a generic "silicone coupler". You can use those keywords to find sources.
Here's the SLP website page below. Some trimming may still be required. I suggest you install the entire assembly loosely starting by attaching the two filter grommets/studs at the cross member. Leave the clamps loose and make minute adjustments by sliding the coupler(s) up/down and see if that remedies the situation...then retighten the clamps.

NOTE: Due to the current cost of order processing, SLP has instituted a $25.00 minimum order requirement.

Thanks SLP for selling something for 20.55 and making it impossible to order. I will try to find one somewhere else I guess or order a generic one. Anyone have the ID measurement ?

On another note, this part is specifically if you have a 2001-2004. I am having a problem understanding why this would fit my car if it is not made for it. Did the MAF size change in 2001?

There was a MAF change at some point, not sure what year. That's why some require using the oem clamped collar (different ID on either side) and some require the silicone coupler.
You might try ZIP PRODUCTS, they also carry the BLACKWING products and they're a site supporting vendor.
