Default Finally in the 10's!!!

Thanks to RobZ's track rental, and a little help from ECS , I finally found the opportunity to get my first trip into the 10's! (2nd, 3rd, & 4th too!)

I have to say I couldn't be happier!! I have a car that is smooth as hell on the street, holds its own on a road course, and can pull 10's in the qtr! Which is exactly what I wanted going into this whole thing.

This is all done with the full weight/interior, stock 3.42 rear, through cats, with the stock catback in place + a bunch of crap in the trunk. The car even still has the road course alignment...Just bolt up tires and go! There is 52k on the motor, and about 6k on the H/C package.

There is more in it, as the 60's, 1/8 and 1/4 mph's varried quite a bit, but I'd be lying if I said it hasn't made me think about thowing in a set of 4.10's and porting the intake yanking the cats and pulling the passenger seat. But whats the fun in that? This thing does exactly what I want it to do, pass after pass, session after session, tank after tank. You guys can chase all the records you want! I'm driving!

The slip is below, and here is the vid I posted of the car when ECS fist completed it showing the street manners.

It's a hell of a sweet package that I can finally says has earned 10's! Thanks ECS!!!! I'm off to change my Avatar!

Good job Mike. Many people were saying that your car was a numbers only car, but you proved otherwise.

well at least there is a 1/4 mile number to go along with the dyno number. I wanted to say it is SOTP faster, but you guys wouldnt let me get away with that.

Nice job Mike,
Your lucky I got busy for a minute or I would of hit tens in it first and you never would have heard the end of that!!!!

Either way, 5- 10 second passes with two drivers sets it in stone to me.

Sweet!

Where can I see a high res pic of the dyno graph? The one in the vid is tough to see.

To be 100% honest, I'm suprised the car didn't trap a little higher... stock C6Zs are trapping about the same MPH stock with ~60 less RWHP and taller gearing?

Still nice to see a drivable H/C C5 run 10's though, pretty nice! Car sounds awesome with the stock Tis on it too!

Thanks a bunch Bro!!! I was laughing at the track because between all the tires we had there, I don't think anyone had thier own set on thier own car!!! But you are right about the tires, they got me home!!!

I can't find the Graph.... but I'm sure Doug or Chris Have it on file somewhere... so I'll let them post it!

This really wasnt a "perfect pass", as the car has trapped as high as 128, and as low as 121. My 1/8's ranged from 98 to 102 and 60's from 1.5-1.8s. I need to get more consistant behind the wheel. I think the way the car sits there is prob another tenth, maybe two to be had. We'll see if I can find it!

With some tweaks (removing the cats, changing the gears, porting the intake etc.) I know there is a fair about more. Gears would likely help my traps speed too, as I'm going under the peak powerband of the cam. But, all in all, I'm happy as a pig in ****. It's just a nasty turn key street car, nothing more, nothing less!

BTW I didn't even put in any race fuel or torco! Just 93 octane straight from the pump! (it wasn't even "good" gas!

Thanks all!!! And thanks again Doug!!!

Congrats Mike! Not surprising at all after the many rides I have taken in that beast. Once I get a couple of commission checks under my belt my Vette may be taking a trip up to ECS for a similar package.

Let me know if you are around the next two weekends as I'll be in the Philly area.
