Default Tranny q's

I have a c5 and love it. This question is for my other baby, my 68 impala w/ a 468 rectangular port bigblock. I need a new trasmission. The Problem is who sells a good high perf. 4 Speed? I can't find one. I would like aluminium to save weight. One other stipulation, it's gotta be indestructable, 600 hp has already ripped appart the t -10 that was in her when i got her a month ago. I figue that some of guys (or girls for that matter) prolly have muscle cars as well. thanks

I went through a similar problem several years ago on a 67 Impala SS427. I could not keep a 4 speed in the car. I went to Power Proven Transmission and it was his suggestion to go with a turbo 400 and a 4000 stall converter, a trans brake and a manual valve body. After a long explanation from me about how automatics are for grandmas he suggested we take a test drive. We jumped into his Pontiac 421 tri power and he locked the trans put the pedal to the floor and then released the trans. After I was able to speak again I just asked him how soon he could have my car done. I just thought I would offer this as an alternative to the 4 speed. I always drove the car hard and never had one problem with the transmission.
I have not talked to them in years but their number is 630-983-0635
