Default My first damage

Hit a curb during a spin out, love it........

Looks like all I bent was my tie-rod and link to the control arm. Minor scuff on the rim, that I can deal with.

You and me both brother. Only there was no curb for me. Doing circles and donuts in a wet parking lot and flew off into a muddy ditch. Damaged a little of the front bumper but barely noticeable. Damn ABS didn't stop me for nuttin'.

Being super sarcastic when I said that.

Just got back from the Stealership with the parts.

I'm just trying to decide if I want to pay $189 for a new rim when really just the lip is scratched.

Put a straight edge up under that upper control arm to be sure it is not bent. They bend pretty easy, but not as easy as the front upper arms. I had a bent one and nothing else was bent. They tend to bend in the center of the rear arm, and normally tend to bend down. They won't look bent at all but a straight edge will show it up right away. If unsure, compare it to a straight edge under the left rear control arm, assuming it is not bent. The car will align to spec on a standard four wheel alignment with a bent arm but the adjustments will be near their limits.

I'll do that, hope the control arm is fine though. I'm working on sawpping out the inner tie rods right now, the outer tie rod looks fine but I bought one just in case.

Just got off the phone with Tomzwheels.com to buy a new rim.

Oh, self inflicted. Good luck in the repairs and be glad there was no body damage.

My first damage was a crack and some nice spider webbing in the front bumper. That incident just gave me another reason to hate stupid people. Actually, he hit it, didn't care and wouldn't pay to fix it so that'd be 3 more reasons.

Wow, either you must've hit that curb pretty hard or it doesn't take much. I hit a median and didn't damage any suspension components...my wheel must've absorbed the brunt of it...

Damage?
Inner tie rod and ended up just paying the $$$ and bought a new rim.

Car is all back together and goes in for an alignment tomorrow at 8am. Went to Selman Chevrolet for the inner tie rod and also picked up an outer tie rod just incase anything came up during the install. Glad I bought the other tie rod, couldn't pry the old parts apart.

got the alignment one this morning. it was only 2 degrees off - not bad considering I did an "eyeball" alignment in the dark last night after I put on the new inner tie rod. all's well that ends well.
