I went to Buttonwillow raceway yesterday and took the car out on the track for the first time. What a rush! The car handled superbly. I just added a 2 piston rear brake upgrade kit to go with the bear roters and the brakes felt great. We got to use the whole 3.5 mile track and I got 4 half hour sessions. It was alot of fun Running those Porsches down. I had to be careful with the extra power coming out of the "S" turns at 85 MPH and hitting the gas alittle too hard put me in a small fishtail, which I did recover from. Overall it was a great day which I will do again soon.

Re: JBSBLOWNC5 excels at Buttonwillow!!! (wallstAL)
c5cemo,It was alot of fun, but does require a great deal of practice and concentration. There was a modified Viper there and as I came down the main stretch, he tried to pass, and without knowing he was even behind me I pulled on him.
Re: JBSBLOWNC5 excels at Buttonwillow!!! (Snowman)
Thanxs Guys, While I do plan on getting a time slip on the new setup, you are right about the road racing aspect of these cars doug. I'll take 2 hours of track time over 47 seconds of drag time on most days. I actually didn't go out on my last run, I had no problems with the car all day, belts, heat ect.. and decided to leave well enough alone for my first outing.

Damn I am envious, by the time I got my car back and everything squared away the snow is ready to fly back here :mad :mad .
Joel, What rims and tires are you running? From the pics it looks like stock rims  . I can understand the the rear-end moving on you I am still having issues with my new CCW when I :smash: it in 2nd gear going straight.
Glad to hear your so please with your car, that was a  story about the viper.
Re: JBSBLOWNC5 excels at Buttonwillow!!! (thekev_2000)
Thekev_2000, sorry to hear about your weather situation. I know all too well about waiting for my car to be done. At the moment I am still running cromed stock wheels with BFG G-Force KDs, 295/35/18 and 255/40/17. I have been VERY happy with the traction and handling these tires deliver on the street as well as the track.
