chrome y2k wheels corrosion?
i have seen a few different vettes with some type of corrosion on the wheel that wont come off. an acquaintance of mine said it is common among those wheels you cant get it off unless the wheels are stripped and re-chromed to look like new.
has anyone on the forum had this experience with their wheels? did you find a way to fix it?
if it cant be fixed, is getting them stripped and re-chrome dipped or whatever its called a worthwhile endeavor?
thanks

GM did not sell Y2K chrome wheels. They sold high polish wheels which were covered with a clear coat. Are you referring to an OEM wheel that was chromed by an aftermarket supplier, a high polish wheel or a repro chrome wheel?
