Default Problem with rectangular BMW lifting pads

I just received my rectangular BMW pucks #51718268885 from Bavauto.com. Good service, ordered on Monday received on thursday $39.75 total. My problem is I don't think they fit well at all and one had a tab break off as I was putting it on. What Im concerned about is one of the corners on each puck doesn't clear the rocker so the fiberglass is between the puck and the frame. Is this what everyone else experienced? It looks to me like that could do damage when lifting the car. The other thing is because of this they do not fit flush to the frame. I am able to pull them off with my hand. Im thinking now I should have ordered the round ones. Can someone tell me if the round ones clear the rocker and fit flush to the frame. Thanks for your feedback.

Sorry to hear about your problems with this item. I've seen them, but have no experience with them. Like many, many others on this forum, I made my own with regular hockey pucks and eye bolts from the local hardware store. They work like they should have been a factory supplied item. Total cost less than half what you paid for the BMW parts. I take them with me to any shop whenever I know they will be lifting my car (tires recently replaced) and just give them to the mechanics - they know what to do with them (and yes I know they used them because I checked). Try building your own with hockey pucks, you'll be pleasantly surprised how easy they are to make and how well they work.

I've had the round BMW pucks in my car for over a year now. They snap into place without interference with the rockers. They're flush to the frame and mine will not come out w/o using a flat blade screw driver to pry them out. They're left installed all the time.
I specifically wanted the round ones just in case I someday decide to add the rocker protection rails. The after market rocker rails are not compatible with the square BMW pucks. I don't think many people used the square BMW pucks for that reason. I suppose you could notch your rocker panel for clearance, but that would not be my choice of action.
I find my round ones do provide limited protection when I drive on to my lift in that the rear pucks lightly scrape at the trailing edge saving my rockers panels.

Same here, the round ones fit perfectly.
