Has anyone tried out SS AutoChrome headers and X-pipe, cost only $475 for both. Is it necessary to get hi-flow cats to get the most out of headers or will the stock cats work. My car is stock except for a B&B cat-back. Thanks for the help, Eric
search for "Ebay Headers" You'll get all the info you can handle.

I wouldn't go with those headers in particular. Some other cheap alternatives could be TPIS and possibly Texas speed (though only mild-steel). Depending on where you live i'd go no cats. But to some they dont like smelly cars. So its your choice. Def dont go stock cats.
i got the long tubes and xpipe from ssac for 400 even including shipping.
ECS installed them for me, i used thunderbolt high flow cats (metal) and i like it alot. they said the headers went right in but you have to buy some 3 inch piping about 10 inches long to complete everything. you also need some gaskets, clamps and some other things.
with, k&n intake, ssac headers, xpipe, borla exhaust i dynoed at ECS 345 rwhp and 344 rwtq. and ran a 12.56 at capitol raceway after the install.
going back up there to ECS on the 26th of nov to have 4:10 gears put in, they are awesome up there. Great customer service.

Do you have the ssac headers, if not, how can you say "i woudnt get them", what basis do you have?
the only reason cars with no cats smell, is becouse they are not tuned correctly
I have the ssac headers, and love them for the price. Ive installed about 5 sets for customers, and everyone loves them, and the extra cash they get to keep in their wallet

These things for 400$, plus about 90 dollars for the weld job (90$ may vary from location to location, thats what it costs here) + 20$ for 02 extensions are an amazing deal. Consider you can sell your stock cats for 125$, if you can install them yourself you have a complete stainless header/x-pipe package for 385$!!!

I think you should buy them! Make sure you post your experience on how the install goes. There has been a set in the parts section for weeks now.

He can say that because of the facts about them found here on the forum.
If you are cheap and like to fix problematic headers go for it

yes becouse everyone on here is an expert, and everything typed here is true!
Yes ive read the fitmant problems, for that i have no explanations becouse i did not see it with my own eyes
All i can say is ive installed 6 sets, one of them my own. All 6 were bought direct from ssac and all 6 sets fit perfectly, with the known issues of moving the A/C line and welding up the center if you do not use cats.

Get them. Out of the hundreds of sets that have been sold to corvette owners on here, I have only seen two posts of people who actually owned them, dissatisfied with them. Most fitment issues are minor and all headers will have some kind of issues regardless of price.
and all headers will have some kind of issues regardless of price.
Neither my LG's nor my ARH's had -any- fitment problems. No bending a/c lines, no prying primaries, no O2 sensors pointed directly at my bell housing. The LGs were a pita to install, but once in place, they fit. ARH's were especially slick; they went in easier than the stock manifolds came out. I've owned 6 sets of headers and have installed all of them myself, sometimes multiple times when they outlasted the stroker motor they were bolted to . The first 4 were 'cheap', the last two 'expensive'. I've found there is a difference. Whether or not it's worth the $$ depends on the guy making the purchase.

Hey I'm still planning on getting the headers and I'll get with you for the install and tune, just been trying to save some cash for Christmas. I've still got your card.
