Default are these dyno numbers low?

2003 corvette
stock engine
dynatech supermax headers, cat and x-pipe
corsa pacecar exhaust
callaway honker intake
new plugs, wires and 93 octane gas.

somehow i was expecting bigger numbers before and after the tune.
what do you think? do these numbers seem low or have i been drinking the after market cool aid?

thanks for looking.

manual shift or automatic?

I'll assume 6 speed. Using the drivetrain loss figure of 15% for a manual shift setup, that puts you near 390hp at the flywheel. For the mods of yours that really matter; I'd say you are right where you should be after a dyno tune.

Those numbers seem fine. Mine is an 02 A4 with (that matter) a vararam and ssac headers w/ xpipe and dyno'd at around 310rwhp. I think my stock engine was one of the ones that was a little weaker coming out of the factory unfortunately.

I have the dynatech package and callaway honker plus a tune on my '02 Z06 and just made 380 RWHP/372 RWTQ SAE corrected. Figuring I was ~50 HP/TQ above you at the flywheel stock I think were pretty darn close...

did your tuner tell you what was causing the power dip right about 95mph on the stock tune? mine was doing the exact same thing in the 3,500 RPM range - turned out to be the knock sensor pulling a bunch of timing and killing my curve all the way up. fixed it with the tune, but funny to see what seems to be the exact same thing on a coupe with the same mods as me...

2001 C5, 20000 K, DUAL CONE INTAKE, DESCREENED, CORSA PACE CARS, 3.14 perf axle...

AFTER DYNO TUNE....

357 RWHP (gain of 50)
377 RWTORQUE (gain of 52)

These are rear wheel, not flywheel....

I would have thought bigger numbers too, but not too much bigger. Maybe around 350 Hp or so. I base this off of my buddies results. He tunes his own car with HPtuners, has headers, an x pipe and no cats, and all the free mods. He made these numbers on the dyno at Cruise In VIII last summer.

Directly from his sig.
ebay headers
magnaflow x-pipe
corsa pace car
ported tb & maf
blackwing
ls-6 Intake
C6 Z06 shifter
Z06 swaybars
hp tuners
352 rwhp, 358 rwtq (and still gets 32 mpg

the tuner said the knock sensor was kicking in and adding timing just like yours.

do you have your dyno sheet? i would like to see it posted so i can see the curve difference.

thanks

Here is my dyno sheet - please keep in mind this is SAE corrected not actual HP/TQ, my actual numbers were 398/389. My numbers stay higher towards the end cause the Z06 heads/cam flow better on the top end than the LS1 components...

Are your headers jet-hot coated? I wonder how many other people with the same setup are having similar issues, could be an issue with the dynatech system...

I don't see how the honker could cause knock retard so it has to be the header system - now it's killing me, I would like to see if there are others with the same issue on the same headers, or if it's a header issue in general...

Did you get a baseline dyno? If not, let's say 300rwhp...that's a 38rwhp gain for LTs with cats, x-pipe, CAI and tune. I would have guessed about 7-10 more rwhp, but they're still not terrible numbers.

So you picked up 50rwhp through an A4 with a CAI and a tune? That's...um...interesting.
