No matter what product you go with do proper prep. Meuratic acid etching sounds worse than it really is. I had to do aprox. 1,000 sq. ft. and scrubbing with a small brush was taking forever so I used an old 30 inch driveway broom and shortened the bristles to 1 inch to stiffen them up. Working in 4 ft sq sections poured acid on floor, scrubbed with broom, hosed down and took up with shop vac.
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
and I bought some concrete paint from Lowe's (Home Depot should have it as well). You can kind of see it in my link above. It is a grey paint and it looks really good. Just apply a couple of coats. I don't recall the name of the paint, but it was the only one they carried that was for concrete. :flag
This is the absoulute correct product---go to http://www.ucoatit.com I did my garage two months ago, and it's perfect. This product is a two-part, water based (go figure!!) epoxy. This water based epoxy has NO AFFINITY for tires, unlike all the acrylic enamel and the so-called "one step" epoxies. This is the stuff used in commercial dealership garages, but repackaged in a complete kit for the average two car garage. Cost is $250.....complete. Rollers, mixing buckets, brushes, everything except muriatic acid, which is $5 a gallon at your local hardware or pool supply store. (Depot does not carry muriatic acid, only phosphoric acid "concrete cleaner", which is not as good)
As for cleaning the floor with muriatic, that's really no big deal. You mix 1/2 gal with 3 gals of water, dump/slosh it on the floor and swish it around with a stiff broom; mix the other 1/2 gal with water and do it all again, and THEN rinse the floor very very very very very thoroughly. The acid does the work of etching the concrete.....the brooming doesn't do all that much. HOWEVER----before the acid work comes a LOT of scrubbing with concrete cleaner, unless your floor is very new. Surprisingly the acid WILL NOT remove oil spots or tire dressing at all. This must be done with lots of strong cleaner (Top Job might work but there are garage floor cleaners on the market) and elbow grease. This is the single most important step of all.........no oil or other gook on the concrete that would prevent the first coat of this water based epoxy from literally soaking in to the concrete. In fact, the first coat is applied with the concrete slightly wet!!!! REALLY!! Yep, you gotta lightly mist the floor with a hose as you work your way across it with the roller. Of course, the floor is already soaked from your muriatic washing, but it will still need to be misted. This is only for the first "bond" coat. And when it's tacky dry, about 6 hours later and ready for the second and final coat, it will look awful. All blotchy and terrible. But that SECOND coat......marvelous. The second coat will "flash" to a rock hard, glass like surface in about 12 hours, and be ready for a car in 24.
It's very slippery when wet, but I chose not to add the grit that is provided, as it makes sweeping/squeegee cleanup more difficult.
Anyway, this Ucoatit product is amazing. It's the real deal. Rock hard once cured (24 hours), will NOT tire lift, and quite resistant to scratches and floor jack scuffs (within reason...you CAN scratch it, just like any paint). It comes with good instructions and a video. You can't go wrong with this one.......
.....but if you use the wrong stuff, it will be a PIA forever. Don't use the typical concrete or porch paint....you'll be hating life.

That is really fine looking, but I don't want to spend that much money.
Nice Garage.
