Default LapTrax Input

I installed the Laptrax last week and it worked fine during the day. At night when the head lights are turned on it reverts back to " trac/active handling on" mode. If I flick on the high beams it goes back to "comp mode". It gets its power from the yellow wire in the accessory power connector. It appears that the sudden drain in power when turning on the lights activates the LapTrax. The Battery is fully charged and all +electrical connections and grounds appear to be clean. Has anyone had this problem?
Thanks

I remember reading that the original power-wire connect location was not the cleanest (DC wise); and that Mike had a solution for this. Best to contact them to get the details. I imagine it's a simple fix.

Called Mike, He said that the unit is specifically designed not to be effected by changing power loads. Unit has been sent back for repair. Problem resolved, good customer service

I do believe there was an update early on in this products history. You must have one of the newer ones. Glad it is being taken care of,

I've had one for over a year- never any problem. Only down side is waiting for it to do its thing before you put the car in gear.

If you have an automatic you can't put the car in gear until the LapTrax changes modes? Do 6 speeds have any issues before starting off?

Yes,you can put it in gear but you have to wait for it to go to comp mode before moving.

It has to do with the year of your Corvette... not the tranny type.

From 1998 thru 2000... you have to wait. From 2001 thru 2004 - no waiting required.
