Hey guys, had headers and high flow cats installed about a month ago and drove many times with no codes. Had car tuned a few days ago with data collected from O2 sensor port. Now a few days later my CEL came on and I have a code P1153 C. This is for HO2S insufficient switching (whatever that means?). Anyhow, the tuner said to give him call if I had a CEL which I will do tomorrow but I would still like to know what is going on. I cleared the code and CEL went off but code returned. Anyone have any ideas what is causing this? I know it is O2 sensor related.
Seen this before it was something to do with the o2 sensors not heating up enough (placement is further down on the collectors) VS stock being up closer to manifld.I belive a tuner can turn them off.
Dose it only come back after the car cools down ? meaning if you clear it when the car is hot dose it stay away ? but comes back after a total cool down.
I'll check the condition of sensors and wiring when I get a chance. Have not had a chance to see what happens after a cool down. Just happened tonight, so I cleared the code and took a drive so see if code came back, which it did. Tuner had a sensor out on the right side where he plugged in to collect data for tuning. May have something to do with it. I'll call him tomorrow. I appreciate input as this is a learning experience for me.

All kinds of stuff goes wrong(unintentionally) on header installs. Broken sensors, melted wiring, etc. Give it a good once over.
Further research indicates to me that the P1153 code refers to the Bank2 sensor 1 or the sensor on the passenger side, as Mike suggested looking at, and the sensor closest to the engine. It sounds as if the PCM has detected that sensor as being "lazy" as in not switching from rich to lean enough. I'll call my tuner tomorrow to see what he has to say. Love the forum, a great source of information. This sound about right?
