Engine Starts Then Dies

My 98, 6-speed, with 31K starts quickly then dies. Second restart without a problem. Once started runs fine. This used to be a rare problem, now becoming more frequent. It will do it almost every time hot or cold. Any suggestions or things to try?

Get it to a good tuner to log it & tweak it.

Should take care of it pretty easy & for not much cost.

Check for codes. You might want to put a fuel pressure guage on it when starting it up.

Does it bog down then die? Make sure the clutch is all the way down or you wont engage the clutch engagement safety switch.

Engine fires immediately, runs less than a second, then dies. Clutch is all the way down. Why is there no starting issue the second time around? Also the engine is stock, no mods.

I'm not getting much feedback on this problem....I guess it's not been a common one.

I thought it might be related to low fuel pressure in the injectors which had bleed off with time and then built on the second retry.
I did start it yesterday after setting idle for a week without a problem so it doesn't look like that's the problem. Is it possible to look for any codes when it happens next time even though there no warning messages displayed?
