You know better than that . Went to 4.10s then down to 3.73s - better for the road courses.

I know. I'm kidding. From stock 3.42's to 4.10's to 3.73's. No more gears left for you to try.

well then switch to a MN12

BTW - I did the exact same gear move. 3.42 to 4.10 to 3.73. My driving went from around town to 1/4 mile racing to road courses.

How much higher are your freeway cruising rpms? Stock gears in 6th gear, 90mph is just about 2,000k rpms exactly. What are you at with 4:10's and 3:73's?

Most of my drivings is highway driving between 70 and 90mph and I love my gas milage. But when people says, "...best mod I've done so far..." it makes me scratch my head and go hmmm.

Anyone want to give me a ride in their 4:10-gear-having vette?

-Steve

Sweet. I'm a PG County cop. I will trade you one ride in your vette for one get-out-of-a-speeding-ticket-free card good only in the county.

That is not necessarily true. What it comes down to is driving style and horse power, but many corvette owners have no issues with driving on the street with 4.10 gears.

I personally ran 4.10 gears for 1 year. At the time I was using them for street, 1/4 mile and road racing. My car had 460 rwhp. If it wasnt for falling in love with road racing and focusing all my energy in that I would have kept them. I never had an issue on the street you just need to adjust your driving style.

well said WW, I am pretty much a street car and I have absolutely no issues with them. You are correct its about adjusting your driving style. You do an H/C package and 4:10s its a different car
