I am the proud owner of a 2001 C5. A new issue with this car is that when the weather is cold, around freezing, it won't start. I turn the key, the electronics work but the starter will not engage. I have changed the Theft relay, as it has been an issue for some although it is usually a heat problem not a cold one. I came home today it is 27 degrees and it started right up. This is after 5 days of not starting. Any ideas or help would be appreciated.
I can also hear and feel both relays activate in the starting process (clutch and theft).
Thanks,
Tony

Is it a MM6 Transmission or A4? If an MM6, check the clutch switch to make sure its engaged fully. A4, the switch is in the park position. Is the security light on when you are trying to start it? You said the starter doesn't engage...is it spinning or just nothing, no clicks and etc...?
This is the MM6. I can hear the clutch relay working (clicking) when the clutch is depressed. I keep the key in the start position and pump the clutch and the relay continues to activate.
The starter makes no noise at all. I hear the theft relay activate, but no starter noise.
