Default Double din radio bezel?

Does anyone sell an aftermarket bezel?
Or does anyone out there convert existing bezels to work with the double din in dash nav radio heads.
Thanks

Did you post in the general vette audio section as well? I seem to remember a sticky and/or someone you could send you bezel to as a core (or maybe you waited while he converted yours). Anyway, they have done numerous and could easily help. Good luck with your project.

C5Kidd sells a very good looking bezel, but here's my problem with it. You have to re-arrange the mounting "cage" behind the bezel, you have to move the HVAC controls, and you lose your ash tray. In my car, I fabricated a mountng bracket that allowed me to leave the stereo where it belongs, and the AC stayed put, and I still have an ashtray. I have a Pioneer Avic Z1, and maybe it is a bit slmmer than some double din units, allowing me to do that where some others wouldn't, I don't know. If I didn't have to move everything, I would have ordered one of his. They do look great.

I didn't think moving the A/C lower was a big deal. And I don't smoke in the car so the ashtray didn't matter to me, needed a panel to mount my seat heater controls anyway and did that on the flat surface where ashtray was.

On thing I did do to make it easier was this. I prepped the whole project by running all the wires, cut out the two radio brackets as noted on posts here by drilling out the rivits, etc. Left mounting the head unit and lowering the A/C for last. Wanted a great and very precise fit to good tolerances. I brought it at that stage to local high end stereo shop and had them mount the head unit and the A/C to fit perfectly. They do that kind of thing every day. Turned out excellent and I didn't have to do the precision stuff myself. Cost a few dollars only and worth it.

I'm sure that moving it all isn't the end of the world, I just wanted to leave it as close to stock as possible. Just personal taste... Also, should I want, I can put it back to factory with only a new bezel.

I'll take some pics this evening when I get home. The bezel isn't done (I messed it up and will need a new one to start over), and is a bit embarrasing, but it'll give you the idea of what it will look like when I'm done. I'll pull the bezel off to show the mounting bracket as well. I don't smoke either, and don't use the ashtray for anything, just as I say, wanted to change as little as possible.

What I did was buy a used bezel to mod from our local vette shop. Called C5Kidd and he gave me specific information on how to do it with exact products to use, etc.. Kept the old bezel and all the Bose stuff becasue what I installed was so costly it will be much too much to sell with the car when that happens (Would never be able to recover the cost with the depreciating car, except just the right buyer who could appreciate it and probably not then). I will put the Bose stuff all back and move my new system to the new car.

Default Pics...

OK, here are the photos. As I said above, the bezel isn't done yet. I cut the center rib out of it planning to smooth it and re-paint it, but once the head unit was in, I realized that I could have left it in, and just trimmed about half of it.

I also included pics of the amps and sub boxes. All in all, I'm running a Pioneer AVIC-Z1 head unit into a Kicker KX1200.1 and KX650.4. The 1200.1 is pushing two Kicker L7 subs, and the 650.4 is pushing Kicker RS 6.5's and 5.25's in the doors, with the tweeters in the A pillars and in the rear factory location.

Just gotta get that bezel finished...

BTW... taking suggestions on what color to powder coat the amp end covers. The flash makes them look at fairly gay shade of blue, they're a bit darker than that, but not really condusive to the car. I had them that color in another car...

I'm thinking yellow as I would like to do the calipers and FRC's in yellow. The car is Dark Bowling Green Metallic, and you can see the oak interior.

Chime in... What color do you all think would work well?
