Default Tcs - C1218 H

I'm showing this code and can't find it on the code list. Does anyone know what it is?

C1218 / Pump Motor Circuit Shorted to Voltage or Motor Ground Open
Don't know what the H is after the number.

The H means history. A search will provide a lot of info. Below is an overview.

DTC C1218
Circuit Description
The system relay is energized when the ignition is ON. The system relay supplies voltage to the solenoid valves and the pump motor. This voltage is referred to as the system voltage.

The electronic brake control module (EBCM) controls each solenoid valve by grounding the solenoid.

The EBCM controls the pump motor by grounding the control circuit. The pump serves 2 purposes:

Transfers brake fluid from the brake calipers to the master cylinder reservoir during pressure decrease events.
Transfers brake fluid from the master cylinder reservoir to the brake calipers during pressure increase events.
Conditions for Running the DTC
The pump motor is commanded ON.
The system voltage is greater than 8 volts.
Conditions for Setting the DTC
One of the following conditions exists for 0.16 seconds:

With the commanded pump motor voltage less than the system voltage, the actual pump motor voltage is 3 volts less than the commanded voltage.
With the commanded pump motor voltage greater than the system voltage, the actual pump motor voltage is less than 8 volts.
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
If equipped, the following actions occur:

The EBCM disables the ABS/TCS/VSES for the duration of the ignition cycle.
The DRP does not function optimally.
The ABS indicator turns ON.
The Traction Control and Active Handling indicator turns ON.
The DIC displays the following messages:
Service ABS
Service Traction System
Service Active Handling

Conditions for Clearing the DTC
The condition for the DTC is no longer present and the DTC is cleared with a scan tool.
The EBCM automatically clears the history DTC when a current DTC is not detected in 100 consecutive drive cycles.

Default C1218 H

the "H" means it's a historical code...erase it & see if it comes back, BEFORE you take it to your dealer, it may not return. here is the procedure:

The "diagnostic display" mode is entered with the following procedure:

with the key in the on position, but the engine not running
push and release the reset button until all messages cleared
next push and HOLD button #4
next push and release button #1 four times while holding button #4
When first engaged the on-board diagnostics go into an "automatic" mode which shows all parameters: PCM-TCS-RTD-BCM-IPC-radio-HVAC-LDCM-RDCM-SCM-RFA. If there are no problems, you will see "no more codes" on the ICP display. The computer will show two kinds of codes, "current" and "history," designated "C" or "H". A current code indicates a malfunction is present in the system whose module is displaying data. A history code indicates a past problem. When the screen displays "manual diagnostics," select the desired module by pressing the "options" button to go forward or the "trip" button to go back. Press "gages" to go forward or "fuel" to go back. To exit the diagnostic mode at any time, press "E/M".
If you want to erase or "clear" codes, press "reset."

The code comes back every time I start the car. Is there a certain module that needs to be replaced? I just replaced the EBCM a couple of weeks ago. Thanks for the help!

The code disappeared for about 3 weeks and now its back. It seems to come on and off every 2-3 weeks. Should I check the grounds? If so, where are they located? Any more info. will be appreciated.

Why did you replace the EBCM? What were the codes? There is a wealth of info in the electrical sticky above.

`i did the same thing had my ecmb unit repair and reinstall, and my code is c1243 H and i keep reseting it and it keep coming back, i have ask for help and guidance, but this seem to throw everyone on the forums. i am glad to see that someone else is having the same problem. did you buy a new ecmb or have it repair, i guessing that maybe the unit did not get fix. they only have better chance of repairing the units that are 2001 and up.
let me know what you find. i am still looking, getting ready to take it in.
it a good thing we can still drive it.

Yup, the ground points for the EBCM/BPMV are quite likely the cause .... though I'd also check ALL electrical connections since maybe one did not get put on properly when the EBCM was replaced.

See Bill Curlee's "sticky" post at the top of this forum about "electrical issues" ... there is a ton of information on the grounding in a Corvette (remember, you're basically driving a plastic body ... so everything has to be grounded to the frame of the car ... ) because a good ground is critical to the performance of the electronics in the car.
