I picked up a pair of 2001 C5, Z06 alloy wheels (OEM). Can someone tell me the spec for the lug nut....type of seat (acorn, bulge, etc). I know the size is 12mmX1.5.... Did a lot of searching but coming up empty. I may go either OEM or aftermarket....thanks.
The seat is 60 degree. The oem lug nuts are acorn. You can find GORILLA chrome (or black) lug nuts/locking lug nuts through some of the site supporting vendors (C.C.A. or HOUSE OF WHEELS, possibly?).
DISCOUNT TIRE also sells them in a box of 20. The chrome looks exceptional and they're all steel.
If you want new oem type lug nuts, try Gene at GMPARTSHOUSE, another site supporting vendor.
If you want used Z16 type lug nuts (polished finish), I have a complete set I took off my Z16 in favor of the GORILLA lugs/locks. I'd say they're a 6 on a scale of 1-10 with very minor corrosion on some of them.

The 01 Z06 had a hollow lug nut with a screw on plastic cap.
In early 2002 GM went to a chrome clad lug, eliminating the plastic caps.
The did this because the plastic caps were prone to coming off.
The hollow lug nuts are the ones that came stock on Corvettes since 1984 and were the best lug nut you could install on a Corvette. The plastic caps only came off if they were not installed correctly (tightened enough). The nuts with the plastic caps are extremely rugged and can take many-many removals and installations by air tools with minimal damage. The stock lug nuts on the 02 and newer cars are the same ones GM used on other cars going back to the mid 80s. They have a thin stainless cap crimped over an odd size lug nut. The cap tends to warp when the lug nuts are removed or installed whether or not you use hand tools. After several removals the cap can come off and leave you with a non-standard lug (neither english or metric) holding the wheel on. This isn't a nice position to be in and requires that you or somebody pound a sacrifical socket onto the lug with a hammer so you can remove it. Whatever you do avoid these types of caps whether they are OEM or aftermarket as they are crap.
