Default Rear Knock sensor

Well I was getting some P0332's so I decided to pull the intake. The rear well had oil in it-anybody seen this freak out a knock sensor? I pulled the valley pan and the rubber seal was "skewed" allowing oil in from the valley.

First time I've seen a post regarding oil in the KS mounting cavity, although there HAVE been posts in the past regarding water in them, usually from washing an engine and not being careful.

I would remove the valley cover, replace the old grommet (GM #12558177) re-install and install a new KS as well (considering how much work is involved to access it). The KS is GM # 10456603.

Pulled the valley cover, put new knock sensor seals, new sensors and a new wiring harness. No codes yet. That EGR hose is a real PIA, sure seems like they could have done a better routing job and either redesigned the cowl for better access or not put stuff back there.

Not to mention that little 1/8" black nylon vacuum line that is very short and easily pulled loose or forgotten about when re-installing the manifold.

I found oil in the rear knock sensor location also. I ended up replacing both sensors, the grommets and the wiring harness and still getting codes. I will replace the rear again this weekend.
