I'm thinking of buying a Competition Cams. Here are the specs:
Adv. Dur .271/.271
Dur. @ .050 .218/.218
Lift W/1.7 ratio .563/.563
Lobe Sep 114
What do you have and are you happy with it? What kind of RWHP changes did you get?
I have that lobe for my exhaust valve. You should get 30ish RWHP out of that cam. That's one fast ramping **** and should lope pretty good in an A4, and only be slightly noticeable in an M6. You probably will set a misfire code on an A4. Should have good low end torque numbers too!
$1200 for a cam install ??!!!! WOW. You might want to check around a bit.. it is about 1/2 that in the places I have checked for others.. Otherwise, do it yourself.. 6-8 hour job.. If memory serves me correctly, I seem to remember MTI was only about $500...
I had MTI do a cam and headers for me and the labor for both was less than 1200. They charge 450 for the install on a cam package You better check someone else out. The group special at MTI for a cam is 599 plus 450. That is the cam package, not just the cam. Man, I would run from someone like that. Just my opinion. No offense to anyone.
Would a cam of those specs work OK with the stock heads and manifolds on my Y2K 6-speed? I don't mind changing to the LS6 manifold but I can't afford to change the heads/cam/manifold at the same time.
