My oil temp started ready very low. Drops even lower at highway speed. I suspect the sensor has gone bad. I have the new sensor. Just need to know where it is located.
Thanks for any help.
You must remove the intake ..... it's located just behind, between center and driver's side cyl head. With a light, you can see it, brass fitting with two wire lead coming out of the top.
Just did one last weekend. More work in disconnecting wires, hoses and such than removing intake. Look out for the small vacuum hose located at the rear of intake, just under the large Power Brake hose. One guy did a post on "Corvette Mechanic" with pics and write up, worth looking for.

As best I can tell, you should be able to replace it without draining the oil as it's position is relatively high in relation to the oil pan and it monitors oil temps as the oil flows through the filter/block assembly, etc. If in doubt, another thing you can do too is raise the car on the left side a bit higher so all the oil in the pan is moving away from area. The torque spec for the sensor is 20Nm (15 ft lbs).
