Bitter Shifter Whine
Just bought a 04 Z06 and it has a short throw shifter. (do not know the make) It has a serious whine, not shifter rattle. I owned a 2002 Z06with the rattle and was made aware that they all will rattle on shut down. I can live with that. It had the stock shifter, but I don't recall it ever producing this much anoying whine. Maybe a slight whine while driving in 1st and 2nd, both at speed and slowing down. It is comming from the shifter area not the rear end. It whines while driving in all gears and it whines just sitting still in netural. (clutch in or clutch out) I like the short throw and it hits all gears nicely and is fun to drive, BUT! this whine is bitter sweet. Can you gentlemen help me?

Just reading the title of your thread, I thought you were posting about a bitter alcoholic beverage. I think you mean....whine....
