6 Speed Manual Steering Lock
Chevy did the recall on my 6 speed & removed the steering column plate, the wheel no longer locks. The first Chevy bill of $400.00 was reimbursed by GM when a Chevy dealer removed the locked steering column plate to remove the display on my dash board. I need confirmation that I am reading the corrective summary by GM correctly
that reads on manual vehicles the steering column wheels still locks
after the recall. I am upset that GM blew me off because 6 weeks after the recall the Service column lock appeared again on dashboard & car fuel cuts out engine. Chevy then serviced car again and gave me a $2000.00 bill. GM wants no part of it. I need help. Please, everyone respond. Thanks Rich
Good luck!

wow you just got ripped off. The CLB would have fixed everything for a small fee of 49.00
There is no fix from GM/dealer. The problem will still remain after you pay the 2K.

The relay in the harness is there to send the correct signal back to the BCM to simulate the actuator and keep the PCM from cutting the fuel.
If you are still getting the Service Column Lock message and the fuel is being cut, most likely the relay has failed.
If the dealer charged you for replacing the actuator, then you should demand a refund. You do not need a working actuator to make the car driveable.
At this point you can either, get the dealer to replace the GM wiring harness (free of charge), or install an aftermarket CLB to satisfy the BCM and keep the fuel from being cut.
I cannot imagine what they could charge you $2000 for, unless they repaced the BCM or some other control modules.

Unfortunately, he's right.
