The front lower a-arms press upward against the bushings on the end of the adjustment bolts. Lowering the car is done by retracting the bolts into the spring. Cutting the bushings would get it even lower, and removing the bolts is as low as you can go without coil-overs.
Longer bolts can be used in the rear, as that spring is pulled upward by the lower a-arms.
