I was under my 00FRC draining the radiator and noticed a wire and connector hanging next to the radiator (passenger side). It is a female connector with two openings. The wires are orange and black. I pulled the panel covers and looked inside this connector comes off a large wire harness. I can't find any place that needs the connector.
I pulled the horns so I could see better but still have not found a place to insert it.
It is not for the air sensor, nor the fog light power source.
Anyone have any ideas.

Does your hood light come on with the hood raised?
If not, it's probably the connector for that harness. The original owner may have clipped or tucked the rest of the harness up under the hood insulator. Many disconnect the connectors to keep the light off during periods of engine compartment work, although it will automatically go out after a few minutes like the interior/trunk lights.
Boy you guys are good. I checked and yes the wire from the hood was disconnected.
I should have thought of that because I did notice that the hood light has not come on recently. I thought a blown bulb, but was in no hurry to replace it.
Thanks to all that answered this forum is the greatest.

Additional info:
Depending on the options ordered originally with the car, there may not be an underhood light and therefore no need for a connection there.
In this case, if RPO code TR9 was not included on the build, the car will not have an underhood light (nor a hole in the hood liner for same), lighted vanity mirrors nor trunk lights.
One nice thing though. The wiring harness as installed on the car WILL accomodate these items should an owner decide to add them at a later date.
The TR9 RPO code appears to have been a standard item on the verts/coupes and an option only on the Hardtops.
