Hi everyone I tried searching for this but I am not finding anything helpfull. Here is the deal. I bought some wheels that are 20/20. The traction control got a little whacky with them and it starts to cut power when i get passed 70mph. I wanted to know if there was anything I can do to fix it or is that it for the traction control? I am planning on changing the front wheels to 19s but not for a few weeks. Will this fix the problem or will it still give me problems. Thanks in advance for your help.
You have to tell us what size tires you have on it. The wheels don't make a bit of difference. You want the diameter of the rear tires to be about an inch taller than the fronts. Or just turn off TC until you change it.
right now I am driving it with the TC off and it works fine but I hate seeing the light in the dash on!!! The tires are 305/25/20 in the back and they are 245/35/20 in the front. So the only way to fix it would be to get the 19s in the front right?
You don't really need to get 19'' rims, there just has to be .5 to 1'' difference in the tire diameter, look up your tire brand and see if you can get the over all diameter,it would mean getting some new tires up front, since the 20" rears are limited in sizes.
Now your front is .75" larger diameter than the rear. It should be the opposite. If you go to a 245/30/20 and keep the same rear, you would be around .21" bigger in the rear which might work. Or you could go 245/35/20 and change the rear to a 305/30/20 which would make the rears .45" bigger and should work fine.
You guys rock!!! Thanks for your help. I was looking for the wheel today and they don't make it in 19s so I would have had no other option anyways. Again thanks for the help.

Does your car have active handling? If so, hold the traction control button down for 5 seconds and it will go into "competition mode", this will turn off the traction control, but leaves the active handling on and it turns the light off.
More importantly it also affects your ABS braking system as the sensors are sending erroneous information to the computer and they won't work properly especially in a panic stop----
