It looks like i've come across the C5 leaky butt syndrome where the tranny meets up to the rear end (red fluid). I have 00 FRC with 30k miles, and have noticed a few drops on the floor. It seems like people have mixed reactions after getting the work performed from what ive read, and have had to have the tranny sealed back up more than once.. Since the transmission fluid isnt under a great deal of pressure, is it a big deal to get this replaced, or just live with it for now?
make sure drain fill plugs are tight, maby give the bolts you can get to a little tighten.
mine butt leaks a little, but the dardnest thing about leaks, they keep away the squeeks (or they can coinside with them but those are different leaks)

I just got my 2001 back today from the dealership and that was one of the items they repaired on mine. It started seeping around 30,000 miles and finally started leaving drips on the floor at about 34,000.
To fix mine that had to replace pump seals AND torque converter (see http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1888564 for copy of invoice outlining work done to resolve my problem). My Service Advisor used to work as a Transmission Tech for 4 years previous to becoming a Service Advisor and he said this is very common on C5s around 30k miles. He said in almost every case if they did not replace the torque converter at the same time it would start leaking again very soon if not immediately. Food for thought.
May I also say that with all the many cars I have owned in my life (including 9 other Corvettes) - all automatics and most with over 100,000 miles, this is the first car I have ever had a Torque Converter problem with. The good news is that I get to look forward to this again at 60,000 miles I guess.
Do you have an auto or stick? Chances are the tranny extension housing is leaking. I had that problem as well, but fixed it when I tore the trans apart and replaced 3rd gear. I also added the DTE trans/rear brace- which preloads the trans assembly. My entire car is BONE dry now.

I just got my 02 coupe a4 back from the dealership this week for a "leaky butt". Turns out that the rubber shaft seal coming out of the transmission was bad.
Since the entire differential was out I had them replace both axle gaskets and seals and some others too. Cost was $1430. I feel better knowing that the leak is not there. Especially since there is no dipstick. Good luck. R/ Al
