Default Shift speeds

How fast does the avg person shift their m6 with stock shifter. What is considered fast? And how fast does an automatic shift?

haha wow interesting question, depends on a few factors, is the A4 had a tune to make more aggresive shifting? As far as the MN6, Clutch, and shortness of shift throw will make a difference on shifting, also how well the transmission is efficiently working. short throw shifters as I have reduce the throw by 30% which means they are going to reduce the time as well. So its a tough question to answer cause you have to think about all these factors.

Yeah, I agree. I figure to hear a lot of different answers. How about a .2-.3 second shift in an m6? I really don't know if this is fast, slow, or average.

The limiting motion is your leg, not your hand. Short throw shifters just help avoid missed shifts and improve feel. They don't make you shift faster.

95% of people do not shift under .4 seconds when shifting quickly. Top of the line Ferrari F1 auto transmissions shift at .2 seconds (180-200 milliseconds).... And they are FAST!
