Will the coolant bypass kit, thermostat, and manifold sensor really make any difference to the car? I already have a Vortex air duct and b&b exhaust kit.
Also where is the best place to go for a good deal on aftermarket exterior parts?
Also, I replaced my whole headlight motor because of the headlight going down and halfway up and stopping, and now the new one is making a horrible grinding noise for a few seconds after I close it. Is it possible there could be a wiring problem thats making them act up? The right headlight works fine by the way. One more thing, I am getting a code thats putting my check engine light on, I believe it was one for the air intake sensor, but I'm not positive. Will my aftermarket intake make this happen? Thanks. -Chris
For the mods, none of those 3 will make any power, abd arent worth spending any money on.
Your left headlight has a plastic gear inside the motor, its stripped out, thats whats making that aweful noise, you can replace it with a brass gear so it will never fail again. Do a search on here and youll fond some more answers
If you have stripped OEM plastic gears, open up the assembly and install the brass aftermarket gears. Do both sides. A search will turn up lots of info on this as "eurospec1" suggested above.
I think a tune (hand held or professional) would help you some esp. if you have an auto tranny. Otherwise you need too look at Long Tube headers, high flow cat (25 - 35 HP from what I read on CF). I dont think I would waste my time on the other mods you listed (waste of time IMO). I did just a few bolt on engine mods and I am very happy with the results. Currently I have Vararam, Corsa indy, Predator tuner, Carbon Fiber air bridge and velocity stack (hey they really do work great), GM HiPo wires and new Iridium plug. None of these mods will give you mega HP but with my whole package I can feel a difference and I am very happy with the results (and that is really all that matters). I guess teh real question is how much money are you willing to spend and do you want to install the mods your self.
i have gone through the same thought process and through research and the forum concluded that the long tube headers and cold air intake are a good start to more power. The cat back adds nothing but sound (put a corsa pace car on anyway and sounds good) . Currently have long tube headers and high flow cats and will install a true cold air intake shortly. After that I think gears would give good gains. After that things begin to get expensive.....
