Hey i have a 2001 corvette convertible and my steering column locked up and i cant turn the wheel. I turned off the car for 10 seconds and started it up again and the wheel is still locked. Of course on christmas but is there a way to by pass it so i can drive my car with out a tow
Some people have had luck jerking the wheel side to side (turning left/right). Sometime this will work getting it to retract, if that doesn't work you might be SOL.

Man, on Christmas....That's a bummer.
Try this....
With the key in the on position and a battery charger or booster pack on the battery, grab the steering wheel and shake it back and forth as fast as you can.....Not necessarily hard like you wanna break it, but more like vibrate it left to right, lock to lock, in hopes that the lock motor frees up.
Also, trying to remove fuse 25 and 29 for about 1 minute with the key ON might help....The fuses are under the pasenger floor mat.
If none of this works, take out the pcm and mail it to me....I'll send it back fixed and I'll include a CLB box and it WILL NEVER HAPPEN EVER AGAIN.
