I am considering installing a supercharger. I understand you can ship the car via trailer for installation. Can someone give me a heads up on this? Are the results worth the cost and invasion into a great engine?

Have you gone to the website to check it out? There are different stages for different prices...any are worth it..
I'm not saying anything bad about LPE but any Magnacharger installation shop can do the install and take care of painting the hood. Power will be very similar as the kit is what it is. You may be able to find an installer closer to you to avoid car transport costs. I know in the Atlanta area there is us and I believe one other shop that is a Magnacharger dealer/installer. You have other choices for the hoods as well. Since Magnachargers for Corvettes are only sold through Callaway now(even dealers have to go through them) their website does not list the different hoods available. RK Sport makes a hood, Callaway obviously does too, Ken Grody makes one as well. That one can be seen here http://speedhound.com/project/02mag.html and here http://speedhound.com/project/covington.html . I am having to go from memory on the other hoods, but I believe ACI makes one and so does Caravaggio. Prices are wide ranging on the hoods and only specific hoods will work.
For anyone who wants to do this themselves, our end of the year sale lasts until this Sunday the 7th. Maganchargers and pro-chargers are both on sale.
I recommend going to a local Magnacharger installer/dealer vs. traveling all the way to LPE since they will likely service your vette over the next few years, provide warranty service to the Magnacharger, become familiar with your specific setup and can refine and update the tune as you add more mods, etc. IMHO, the cost/benefit just makes sense.
