Default Halltech Air Filter Cleaning Question

Hello,
I've been searching the forums on how to clean the halltech filter. My filter is white in color and it is on my 03 Z06. I've seen that they are made by Donaldson and you can use that cleaning kit. I was wondering i've seen posts that you can use the K&N kit as well. But one person said that the K&N oil is all natural vs Donaldson is synthetic? I've also seen people use simple green and mineral oil. Which brand of mineral have you used or is any ok as long as it says mineral? Just not sure which way to go. I was going to start with the simple green since I have some here and just buy some mineral oil? Any help would be appreciated.

thank you

Jim Hall of Halltech told me that the K&N cleaner and oil is just fine for use with the Remay (synthetic) filter that came with my Stinger intake system. I may also use diluted Simple Green to clean the filter.

I wrote a procedure for cleaning it and you can find it here:
