I installed LS6 heads a few months back.... what a difference !!
I still have the stock ls1 cam and very pleased with the power.

It is not hard to do. Read up on the install, get some local corvetteforum member to help !! Just remove all the little stuff befor someone goes over and helps you.

ls6 heads are definitely a good cheap alternative to maintain a DD.

I gave $500 for mine right here on the forum. Had about 30 K on them and came with a set of Manley springs and titanium retainers. All I did was a straight up old fashion 3 angle valve job and new seals. Can’t give you real numbers but if the FIPK K&N was worth 8 to 10 HP then I say the 243’s are worth 15 to 20 HP. Really nice SOTP difference from the 241’s I pulled off.

Just remember that if you end up with 02-04 243 heads they will have the lighter hollow/sodium valves and the stems will be about .025 longer than regular LS1 valves. Not sure about valve length on LS2 243 heads.
