Pulled the car out of the garage and seen some transmission fluid leaking on the driveway put the car up did a serch on CF found that sometimes on cold days the A-4 will do this if not warmed up so went back out let car get to full running temp and no leak. Is this a common problem with the low temp and A-4s ? I have a 2000 vert with 70000 miles. Basssprinng
Yes, the ATF comes out the weep hole. My driveway is on a slight incline uphill to the garage. During "cold" days, backing out of the garage would leave a 20 foot long "streak" of ATF on the concrete.
Finally got tired of "warming up" the Vette so I spent two weeks last winter leisurely R&R the seal and install Z06 Ti exhaust while I had the cradle out.
There was a thred a couple of years back regarding the seal. Seems when it is cold the seal leaks. When warm the seal does not leak.
If I recall it had something to do with the material the seal is made from.
Thanx for the input I have one of those 100.00 deduct warranties so I took it to the dealer for repair today will post more info when I hear from them. Bassspring
When I took my old, leaky seal out, it was pretty hard and not very pliable. Just reminded me of the Challenger Space Shuttle solid rocket booster o-rings.

Mine is doing the exact same thing right now. It has dipped in the 30-50's here
It appears to be coming from around the differential tho and is red not the tranny
There is a TSB out on this issue it covers 97-03 C5 new rear seal is required. Original seal takes a set in cold weather. Had mine done about 9 months ago.

That's pretty close to the price a local "stealership" wanted to fix mine. I couldn't stand to leave the Vette there for two days so I bought the parts and a motorcycle lift to drop the cradle to fix it myself and saved about $500. Plus the "bonding" time with my Vette....Priceless
