Lowering ??
When turning the bolt to lower the front, the rubber disk wants to pull or bounce the wrench back. I don't want to cause any damage. Do i force the turning of the bolt against the resistance of the rubber ??
TIA.
After you've taken pressure off the spring, apply the lubricant to the threaded portion of the adjuster (in the trough at the top of the spring) as well as around the bottom of the bushing. Wait for the lubricant to flow down the threads below the spring. You'll know it's thoroughly lubricated at that point.
Use the putty knife to work under the bushing. If you try to force the adjuster w/o breaking the bushing free, you risk damaging the hex on the top of the adjuster.
Once the threaded adjuster has been thoroughly lubricated and the bushing freed with the putty knife, you should be able to make whatever adjustments you want by hand, w/o need of a 10mm wrench.
Apply white lithium grease to the bottom of the bushing to prevent it from sticking in the future.
These guys got it. You need to take all the tension off the bolt to do this properly. I used anti seize on my bolts so there wont be a problem in the future if I want to mess with them again.
