The CD player in my C5 does not work. When I put a CD in it says error without any codes. I have tried cleaning it with out any luck. Does anyone know where I can get it fixed? Is the CD player and radio one unit?

I see them in the parts section all the time......
There might be nothing wrong with your CD player at all. First of all, are you referring to the in dash unit or the changer in the trunk?
You might be using burned CDs, which some units will not accept.
You might be inserting the CDs upside down. The in dash unit accepts the CDs label up, while the CD changer accepts the CDs label down (shiny side up).
If you're referring to the CD changer in the trunk, you have to wait for a few seconds after inserting the magazine before the CD changer is ready to start playing. You should see a flashing CD icon while it's going through the process of reading/loading the CDs.
There have been numerous past discussions about malfunctioning CD players and CD changers.
In the C5 Tech forum, click on "search this forum" (in the red banner) and use keywords "CD player" or "CD changer" or "CD err" or similar. You should find plenty to read which might help you resolve the problem.
If none of that works for you, this source has come recommended in the past from several members. They are not a site supporting vendor... mnrelectronics.com
