Default Real Hatch Weatherstrip

Anybody changed out either of the two weatherstriping pieces on or aroung the rear hatch? I bought both pieces, but can't figure out if I need to try and remove the hatch itself.

thanks!

try it without removing worst case you need to remove it. Mark the position of the hinges for alignment if there is adjustment on them it will be easier to get back. What did you pay for the rubber on the hatch? I need to replace it on forward part that goes against the halo of the car. I see prices for 185 for the one piece

I called my local Chevrolet dealership and they had the one piece that goes completely around the hatch opening. I don't remember what the cost was, but it was the larger of the two and was way less then the 185 you discussed... I'll look for the receipt. I figured as these cars are getting older, more people might have done this already!

You need to remove the shocks to do weather stripping, just support the hatch with some kind holder, like a 2 x 4.

Access is then easy.
