The messages are stored in nonvolitle ROM in the BCM (I BELIEVE).
On a Cadillac you can have two different names or any other combo of words pop up depending on which RKE fob is used. Someone who knows where this alphanumeric text is stored could replace the existing text with other text. A million years ago when I worked for a LARGE computer company I played around with replacing the console messages output for IPLs (Initial Program Loads) and for some other information and error messages. This was inside a lab and the messages meant no harm to anyone but were a break in the tedium of writing diagnostic programs. Given the proper tools and maybe a scan 2 or ROM burner the Corvette message could easily be replaced.
When I owned an ORIGINAL PCAT which did not support the "NEW" 3 1/2 " diskette drives I had someone burn an EPROM which had the codes to allow this peripheral to be used on the older PC. It was
"UNSUPPORATED" but it WORKED.
Perhaps someone who KNOWS will tell us what needs to be done to skywrite other messages or change the messages now showing up on the DIC to anything your heart desires. BIGHANK
I know the C6 Z does cause my dads cars says welcome brian..I would imagine you could make the C5 do it, after all its a computer anything is possible.

This horse has been beaten already-I believe the consensus was it's not possible on the C5.
Yup ... a "standard" feature on the C6 is a programmable greeting. The C5 has the greeting stored in the IPC. I've never heard of anyone that has taken the time to try and "burn" in a new message on a C5 .... though I doubt many would want to risk messing with the IPC as along with the message it also stores data such as your odometer reading ... not something you want to mess with.
