Default cam selection...

sorry, guys, i know this has probably been asked a 100x before, but i need help with either a cam recommendation or how to go about choosing a cam.

i have an 02 a4 coupe. i've got LG longtubes, xpipe, and a borla catback, i recently purchased 3.42s, and i'll be putting a small tq in the car as well. i also have a nx wet kit that i plan on putting on, but i'd like to get about 360rwhp out of it n/a. i'd like something with a nice, healthy lope behind in. any and all suggestions are appreciated. thanks.

The G5X3 might be an option if you're staying with your stock heads...
just one opinion of probably very many......

with the mods you have selected you will not be able to go with a hard loping cam due to your low final drive gear ratio you will be forced to either go with a significantly larger torque converter to help spin up the rpms quicker or sacrifice with a similar to stock T/C with a smaller camshaft. Either way you go you need to find a camshaft that will be suitable for comfortable day to day driving (if its a dd) and one that is formulated for nitrous applications. I suggest going on Thunder Racing and looking in there camshaft section....they give you a breakdown of the cams power capabilty, rpm range, recommended gearing, and also give you examples of dyno gains from other customers which have chose the cam...if you call ask for Jonathon and tell him Brandon from BNT Performance recommended you....he is good people and I have done a ton of business with him in the past few years. Have any other questions PM ill be glad to steer you in the right direction if you still need some assistance.....

With the 3:42's you can run a 3200 stall no problem without it feeling too loose for you. If you want a hard loping cam that provides great performance I would also suggest a G5X3 112lsa from personal experience. This cam loves the juice as well. It's really all in the tune on how a cam behaves so if you have a good tuner don't fear the larger cams. I personally would not go smaller then a 3200 stall.

Elvir is correct - you will want to get a converter unless you dont want to go over say.... a 224/224 .581/.581 114LSA Camshaft. It'll probably get you your power you want, but the car will feel 10X better with even just a 3000 RPM stall. The converter will make a huge performance difference as well.
