If the car is not abused, what is the chance a stock Z06 drivetrain will survive for any length of time behind a 800HP boosted stroker motor?
What kind of money needs to be spent to trans/diff to provide any kind of reliability if one wants to regularly tap the 700RWHP?
Thanks!
Well, I'm getting ready to do just that. When all is said and done, I'll only be at about 600rwhp. My plan:
-RPM Differential hardened output shafts, and a 3 rib case
-RPM Level 5 six speed with 300M mainshaft(replacing the torque tube bushings while in there)
-New clutch, flywheel, and slave
I do all my own work, so I'm looking at about $6200
Your stock clutch imo will be the 1st to go ,if it hasnt allready count your blessings ,its a time bomb ,u will have to upgrade your tranny theres no ?s about it ,& u will need to upgrade the carrier ,u will @ the least need to upgrade the outputshaft on the driverside ,cajundude has a good price on this item & he is a rpm tranny vendor also,Rpm or Finish line trannsmissions ,Dte has nice carriers ,they can get pricey thats why i pointed u to gulfcoastperformance.com ,hes got good prices on the products
My stock mn6 drivetrain with spec3+ clutch has survived around 6000 miles so far. This includes two trips to the track where the car trapped 128mph. I'm at almost 650rwhp. I'm real easy on the launch 1.9 60ft. I'm sure continued abuse will eventually kill it, but I'm not fixing it until it's broken.
For sure you'll need a great clutch like a twin disk or some sort. Now if your not planning on running at the track any time soon then thats all you need, if your going to the 1/4 mile with some kind of drag tire you will need to upgrade the output shaft on the diff.
if u wheel hop 1 time with 450 rwtq there is a good chance the outputshaft will break my buddy broke his outputshaft showboating in a parking lot ,just try to avoid wheelhop @ allcost ,Or u can baby the car like its stock until u can get your ducks in a row ,to get what evers needed, until then baby the car ,it will be very tempting to stab into it ,i am going thru this right now with my charged 00 ,i dont have a fuel pump intank & i am waiting on some money, until then u either baby the car or park it ,i dynoed @ 540rwhp & 480 ftlbs of tq @ 5,000rpm ,u can imagine how hard it is to not wanna stab into it,just baby the car & u will be fine ,easier said than done

^^ Not long. The first to go will probably be the clutch. You probably need to spend at least $6,500 or more just in parts to beef up the drivetrain.
You will need:
Textralia clutch
RPM level 5 tranny
RPM or DTE built rear-end
DTE brace.
May also need to replace one or both rubber bushings in the torque tube with aluminum bushings.
HD engine and tranny mounts.
