Default Stupid spark plug question

What plugs came from teh factory in 2001?

I bought my vert used and am in the process of doing heads & Cam. Pulled the plugs and they are DENSOs. Were theses stock? They look like sh#@. Just curious

No way densos were stock. Denso makes good, but expensive plugs. The Iridiums are almost $6 apiece.

It's in your service manual under:Chapter 6, Engine Electrical Specifications

Do yourself a favor and go to your local parts store and get some NGK TR55's. They may not last as long as the expensive stock plugs but at under 2 bucks apiece who cares! I like copper plugs better than the iridium/platinum ones and since my car is not a DD, longevity is not an issue.

I just replaced the original plugs on my '01 coupe last weekend and they were Densos. After 46k miles they were toast. I put in new Bosch platinums (nobody had the NGKs in stock) and it made a very noticable difference in power and smoothness over the dirty orignal plugs. I think the condition of the plugs is alot more important than what type or brand they are.
