I posted a couple months ago about the problem I was having installing my LapTrax Delux in my 2004 Coupe. In 2004 some wiring changes were made such as deleting the Aux wire by the BCM which the LapTrax instructions say to use for ground and ignition. After posting the first time several forum members were helpful advising using the ignition switch hot wire and advising where the infamous Dark Blue Reset wire is located. I took my car to an installer and all was fine until we tried to find the blue wire. Doug from Moroso Motor sports had advised there are 7 wires and gave me the colors off of the DIC switch. Well we could not locate them. Note: I have a HUD so I don't know if that changes things. The only dark blue wire we found was for the left turn signal. We had the instrument cluster out of the car trying to find that %$#&@ing wire. We tried to find a 2004 electrical schematic but could not find it for the DIC so we had to give up. We did hook up the LapTrax to set the default for Competition Mode which is very nice but I have to push the reset button each time I start the car. I am pretty sure in 2004 the wiring was changed and the colors for the wires also changed but not certain. So does anyone know what color the wire is and where it is on an 04 for the reset function? We also tried calling the # LapTarx has on their instructions but the message says "not a working # or disconnected" Also their website is no longer working so I am thinking they went belly up. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Unfortunately I just put my instrument panel back in yesterday. If you still have yours out check the wires from the DIC. There should be seven GRY, ORG, BRN,WHT, GRN, RED, BLU. The blue wire goes to the reset button on the DIC. I am using a 1999 service manual. I would think that yours should be the same, regardless of the HUD. If some one has a 2004 service manual the wiring schematic is in volume #3, Body and Accessories - Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console. I hope this helps.

Doug, I had your your response from a couple months back on this topic with me when England Green and I took the IP out. I did not realize the 7 wires you were referring to were the ones going to the buttons in back of the DIC. We were looking for a harness behind the Ignition switch. Did you tap directly into the blue wire that goes in the back behind the reset button? We did see that wire and were going to tap it but neither of use felt comfortable with that without a schmedic. Thank you for your help again. Craig

Yes, I taped directly into the blue wire coming out of the back of the dic with the supplied connector. Sorry for not responding sooner, having Internet problems

Thank you so much Doug! We'll give it another try.
it is the blue wire coming from a connector that holds all the wires that plug into the dic button center (the vertical buttons).
It is a major B!TCH of an install, there is almost NO slack in the wires, and I guess it would've been a hell of a lot easier if you could remove parts on the dash, but I didn't, and looking back, you probably should.

PITA.
It sure is!
