Default X - pipe question

I have a 98 coupe with a TI catback, other then the catbacks the entire exhaust is stock. If I install an aftermarket X pipe will the exhaust sound be louder and will the idle have more rumble than it does now?
Thanks for everyones help.

I wouldn't think that a X-Pipe would make it sound better.

The sound will be pretty much the same, but the popping and burbling when gearing down should be reduced.

My X-Pipe actually made it quieter at certain RPM's and deff will NOT make it rumble more--it gives it a more of an aggressive rasphy sound when on it hard rather than the typical low rumble--

Thanks for everyones help.
If your looking for a deeper rumble, install a set of long tube headers and bolt them up to the ti's. I like the sound on my '04.

I have a stock 2002 Z06 - installed a Magnaflow X-pipe to rid the H-pipe jingles.

The X-Pipe absolutely quiets down my exhaust - but at least it got rid of the jingles.

I absolutely preferred the exhaust with the original H-Pipe; just could not stand the jingles.

If you have no jingles - keep the oem H-Pipe and have a much better sound.

Not so much as louder but have a more agressive sound!

The H-Pipe does not have the efficiency as an X-Pipe does and it will alter the sound of the exhaust but if your looking for louder that is not the way but it will net you some better flow!

Thanks,Matt
