Default C5 header differences?

Whats the differences b/t 97-99, 2000, and 01-04 models that make the headers different. I found a set for 97-99 models cheap, can I make them fit my '01? Note they are the shorty version.

The difference is in the air tube conections. and the hookups to the stock x pipe
Why do you want short tube headers? If its for the header sound thats fine. You will not see a real increase in power on a c5 with short tube headers. I would spend the header money on a real dyno tune done by someone who specialis in c5s. GM left a lot on the table with stock tune.

Very well, I'll stay with what I have. I'm not impressed by the inflated prices for LT headers and I had found some ST ones for a steal, but I won't waste my time. I just installed a cold air intake and coolant bypass around the throttle body, it seems to have made a noticeable difference. There is a place in Baton Rouge that does a tune for $185, but it is not a dyno-tune. Is this worth the investement?

You will have to change to the 97-99 complete H-pipe (from manifolds back), then you need to replace the Pass. side air tube that connects to the header (97-00 are on the 4th pipe and 01-04 are on the 3rd pipe) unless you can find this stuff free you may end up spending as much on the shorty system as a long tube system (worth more HP)

How about a set of SSAC (stainless works) LT headers for $300 NEW!! I just had mine installed a few weeks ago and they put a huge grin on my face and a nice bump in my low end torque.
